Dept. of Raps and Confabs

Netflix’s new Ryan Murphy musical is a (small) screen adaptation of the Broadway hit The Prom, featuring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, Andrew Rannells, Ariana DeBose, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jo Ellen Pellman.

In this interview, we sat down with three of the stars of The Prom to talk proms, the resurgence of musicals on the big screen, and Ryan Murphy.

We also spoke to Kerry Washington and Ariana DeBose. You can watch that interview here.

The Prom premieres on Netflix Friday, 11 December. Read our review here.

Bahir likes to review movies because he can watch them at special screenings and not have to interact with large groups of people who may not agree with his idea of what a movie going experience is. Bahir likes jazz, documentaries, Ken Burns, and summer blockbuster movies. He really hopes that the HBO MAX Green Lantern series will help the character be cool again. Also don’t get him started on Jason Momoa’s Aquaman (#NotMyArthurCurry).
